Strap Pad - A New Stomp Pad That Gives You Lift!

SIA 2009 in Las Vegas witnessed the birth of the Strap Pad - the only stomp pad available on the market with a unique adjustable strap built into it to ease your ride up and off the chairlift. From entry level snowboarders to experts, this is a product you are not going to want to ride without. The traditional stomp pad is composed of a plastic base with a peel and stick adhesive. The plastic base typically has traction bumps, but is very low quality and the pad usually comes off of the snowboard deck within one ski season. Those old school stomp pads give you a little bit of traction while you’re getting off of the lift - but what about while you’re on the lift? Stomp Pads do nothing to help you out on the lift. In fact, a lot of us have just come to accept the discomfort, and inconveniences that we’ve all felt on our rider - up the mountain. You’ve got all of the weight of the snowboard hanging on one foot; the angle is awkward, and after a while, it just gets heavy. You can try to support the weight by placing your back foot under the edge of the snowboard, but that causes wear and tear on your boots and laces. Meanwhile, now your board is banging into your friends sitting next to you, and everyone on the chairlift is just a little more miserable then they need to be. When the rider gets off of the chairlift, the rider is supposed to be able to stomp onto the stomp pad and use the traction bumps to stabilize the back foot to help the rider navigate off of the lift. This rarely works for beginners, and riders feet slip off of the stomp pad and the rider loses control before crashing. Well, no more, Strap Pad changes all of this…

After you enter the chairlift, simply slide your back foot into the Strap Pad and you the weight of the snowboard is instantly distributed amongst both legs. You will notice that the heavy pulling sensation on your front leg is gone. This helps to limit the stress and strain that you put on your knees and ankles. Strap Pad also reduces wear and tear on your boots and laces, because you no longer have to support the weight of the snowboard from underneath. It also improves the ride of those sitting next to you because you’re no longer adjusting and bumping into their skis or boards. And the best part is, the base of the Strap Pad IS a stomp pad, so you get all the advantages of an ordinary stomp pad, plus the additional stability of a strap. With all these advantages, the question isn’t why you should get a Strap Pad, it’s why wouldn’t you?

We leave with the Strap Pad testimonial of the week. This testimonial comes from Tim C over in Indiana. Tim writes:

“I love the Strap Pad. It makes riding the lift so much easier. And getting off the chair isn’t something to be afraid of any more. In fact, when people fall trying to get off the chair in front of you, it is usually a guaranteed fall on the pile. Now, with the Strap Pad, I have control of the board enough to avoid these situations. Great idea! Wish I’d have thought of this.”

Thank you Tim for your input and we can’t wait to see you on the slopes!
