Strap Pad - When a Normal Stomp Pad Isn't Enough
Three weeks ago, southern California was dumped on by over two feet of snow for the first time since December. Last weekend I went snowboarding over at Mountain High where the weather was beautiful, the powder was fresh, and the slopes were packed with boarders excited to get back on the mountain. As I made my way up the chairlift, I noticed the guy next to me was struggling to keep his snowboard supported with his back leg because his front leg was hurting. As we got up to the top of the lift, he stood up on his stomp pad, went straight, and ate crap as he tried to turn just before running into two other girls that had just fallen down from the chairlift in front of us. In the 2 minutes as I was strapping into my bindings I saw four more people crash off the lift as though they had no control. I looked down and the Strap Pad on the top of my deck and smiled, as I remembered the days when I also had no control getting off of the lift when I was using an ordinary stomp pad.
Those old school stomp pads that stick onto your board do nothing to really help you getting off the lift besides give you a little traction going straight. As soon as you try to stop or turn, your foot will easily slide of the pad, causing you to eat it in front of everyone. With the Strap Pad, simply slide your foot into the strap as you’re about to get off the chairlift and the strap pad will act as a temporary binding, giving the rider full control as he exits the lift. This not only improves your ride, but improves the ride for those sitting next to you because they aren’t falling over you and it will improve your overall day because you’re less exhausted and battered from falling down on the hard ice all day every time you get off the lift. I would highly recommend the Strap Pad to anyone when an ordinary stomp pad just isn’t enough.
We leave with the Strap Pad testimonial of the week. This testimonial comes from George B M over in San Diego, Ca. George writes:
“Your product rocks! I got it from Hangar 94 in San Diego and am absolutely in love with it. It makes for one less hassle on the mountain so I can focus on riding. Great product!”
Thank you George for your input and we can’t wait to see you on the slopes!
